Does the Sephora by OPI Glee Collection Hit All the Right Notes? - Makeup and Beauty Blog

"What does a show about high school choir have to exercise with nail shine?" I wondered, standing in the middle of Sephora yesterday. Gazing upon the brandish for the new Sephora past OPI Glee Drove, I tried to connect the dots between Mr. Shue, his band of musical misfits and OPI'south line of limited edition lacquers.

I gauge the answer was obvious plenty: who cares? 🙂 In a globe with Spanx for Men, I suppose anything is possible.

Shoot, if Katy Perry and Justin Bieber tin can do it, why not the kids from McKinley High?

SIDENOTE: I predict the next stop on the Glee beauty bus will be a fragrance. Soon, your ten-year onetime cousin will be asking you lot to buy her the new Glee-eau de toilette (a fruity-floral, for certain!).

The lyrical line, which just arrived on shelves, contains 10 new shades ($9.50 each) and three packs of stick-on nail prints ($xv each). If $nine.fifty sounds similar a lot, there's also a set of half-dozen 0.12-oz. mini-bottles for $24. In true Glee manner, the colors have names similar "Slushied" and "Celibacy Guild."

I was hoping to find "The Chronic Lady," "My Shop Instructor Has No Thumbs" and "The School Nurse Gave Me These Vitamins," but so again I similar to think of the quirky get-go season as the golden age of Glee.

I briefly considered the polka-dot boom stickers, but I think I was nonetheless under the influence of the drugs I got at the dentist… Adhesive beauty products aren't commonly my thing (I arraign it on a traumatic experience involving Lee Press-On Nails many years ago).

Er, mayhap?

Just I did walk away with the Glee 6 Piece Mini Kit ($24). I already have a couple of Sephora past OPI polishes (beloved, LOVE Let's do Lunch), and I recall OPI's polishes tend to exist pretty sturdy when used with a good base and top coat. At a minimum, I figured I'd exist getting polishes that would resist chips.

Doesn't the box wait all Christmassy? I wouldn't exist surprised if it was originally slated for a Christmas release, considering I remember fifty-fifty the jewel-toned polish colors take a vacation feel.

The wee bottles in the mini-kit feel a touch likewise small for my hands, simply their fantastic castor makes upwardly for it. It's wide and applies color smoothly, allowing me to comprehend each entire nail in just ii or three swipes.

The creams (Miss Bossy Pants and Slushied) and glitters (Celibacy Club and Gleek Out) take three layers to attain full opacity, while the shimmers (Sue vs. Shue and Express Yourself to Yourself) accept two.

I like Slushied, Miss Bossy Pants and Express Yourself to Yourself, only I think that'southward because I've fix seen these colors from China Glaze. Hard cadre Gleeks might still want to snatch the set, though, considering information technology'due south e'er fun to pigment your nails while you're watching your favorite testify. 🙂

Are you hip to Southland?

GEEZ! I'm kinda dragging today considering I stayed up tardily last nighttime to watch a few episodes of Southland, my new favorite cop show. It follows a group of officers with the Los Angeles Police Section and reminds me a picayune of Law and Order: SVU. I really think the characters are THAT solid and interesting.

Detective Lydia Adams, played past actress Regina Rex (remember her from Jerry Maguire?), is probably my favorite.

And I can't believe girlfriend is 40! Damn, I'll accept whatsoever she'due south having, yo.

Of course, the show has the requisite eye candy, equally well, via rookie cop Ben Sherman, played by Benjamin McKenzie…

I've never been pulled over earlier (knock on wood!), but if/when I am, permit's hope it's by Officer Ben.
